Reverend's Kenneth & Alice McDade
Kenneth and Alice McDade are the founders and Pastors of Rhema Christian Center II Church located at 1700 27th St in Newport News, Virginia. Rhema II is the first chuch orginiating from Rhema I, located in Washington D.C. Rhema I is under the leadership of Bishop Clarence C. Givens, and has a membership of more than 2000 and growing.
Pastor Kenneth McDade and Alice McDade studied at Givens Bible College,
Washington, D.C., Word of Faith, Texas and Rhema Bible College, Tulsa.
Pastor Kenneth is a retired police officer. In that position, and out of
his faithfulness and desire to serve the only true God, God used him to
witness and lead many to Jesus Our Lord and Savior. Pastor Kenneth serves on the board of Operation Breakingthrough and is Co-Vice President of the Covenant Pastors Association.
Pastor Kenneth McDade answered the call of Luke 4:18:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach
the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
And Isaiah 6:8:
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who
will go for us? Then said I, here am I send me.”
Pastor Alice McDade was called into the healing ministry with signs,
wonders and miracles following. With a heart for the youth of our
generation, she founded Rhema Christian Center Academy in Newport News,
Virginia and has served as its Director since it was established in 1993.
As Administrator of the Church, Pastor Alice along with her husband, Pastor
Kenneth McDade, spearheaded the building of their $1.5 million, 511 seat
sanctuary along with three other existing buildings -- one of which now
houses a Youth Church.
Rhema II had its beginning in 1984 from a home bible study. The home bible
study began with three members and grew to 46. When it moved from the home bible study into the sanctuary, five members joined. We were curious and we asked God “why only five members joined?” God answered with II Corinthians
12:9 “My Grace is Sufficient for thee, as you grow as shepherds, in grace
and in the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, you will grow in
number.” We became a full-time ministry in 1985.
We at Rhema II worship God in spirit and in truth. Our main goal is the
perfecting of the saints to answer God’s call of John 15:16.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you that you
should bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain that whatsoever
ye shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it you.”
Together they are reaching out to hurting people throughout their
community. They have one daughter, Danielle Hodges and two loving
grandchildren, Brandi and Dante’.
